Jazz Guide

In 2011, we have implemented the "Jazz Guide" project, whose aim is to digitalise 265 issues of the "Jazz Forum" magazine from 1965-1989 and make them available online on the free site www.polishjazzarch.com. Apart from the Polish-language version, in 1967-1989 "Jazz Forum" was also issued in English, and in 1976-1981 - in German, which makes the project the more worthwhile, as the digitalised issues are comprehensible to jazz lovers worldwide. "Jazz Forum" contains a wealth of fascinating material, including: interviews with world-famous artists, articles about musicians, reports from major festival events and concert tours, record and book reviews, and many others. "Jazz Forum" is not only a chronicle of the world jazz, but also - of classical and popular music. For many years, the graphic design was created by, among others, Rafał Olbiński, and the magazine was illustrated by such artists as Edward Lutczyn and Jan Sawka. Today, the contents of the magazine are just priceless.

The project also includes an offer of lesson plans and multimedia presentations for young people, familiarising them with jazz music in an attractive fashion. These tools will be created by Janusz Szprot, Piotr Rodowicz and Mariusz Gradowski (available only in Polish).
